An Update from STAO

PLEASE READ; Our mission
James 1:27 “Religion that God our father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
We’re sure everyone has realized, at some point, how short life on Earth truly is. God has given us one job while we are here, “Go and make disciples of all nations,” and we have such a short amount of time to get that accomplished. We feel God clearly speaking in our lives and telling us that loving others is the only way to Him.
In April 2010, we are beginning a journey to Jinja, Uganda, in East Africa. We will be working at Save the Aids Orphans Uganda (STAO), loving, teaching, and caring for orphans and widows who are suffering because of AIDS and abandonment.
While in Uganda we will:
- Help with Bible studies at the Orphanage
- Teach classes (the English language and Math)
- Teach the kids different games
- HIV/AIDS awareness program
- Evangelism at home cells
- Medical home visits to families that have been affected and effected due to HIV/AIDS
The world has created so many things that keep us from getting closer to God and doing His work. Unfortunately money is one of those earthly things that is required to get by in this world. We want to be completely honest with you when we say we despise money and hate to ask it of you. But then we realized that is what our brothers and sisters are for! You may not be able to adopt or personally go care for those who are suffering, but God does tell us to care for orphans and widows and this is a direct way that you could do just that.
We don’t know what the future holds for us, but we do know this is the beginning of our path to radically and passionately be the hands and feet of God. We ask that you continue to pray for wisdom and discernment even after this trip because we both hear God whispering that greater things are yet to come. Please, please, please do NOT underestimate the power of prayer. We both truly believe that prayer is how we are able to have an intimate relationship with our precious Jesus. We would greatly appreciate prayers for guidance, love, and the right actions and words while we are there.

Proverbs 24:11&12 “Rescue the perishing; don’t hesitate to step in and help. If you say, ‘but we knew nothing about this’ will that get you off the hook? Someone is watching you closely you know-someone who not impressed with weak excuses.”
